Some people make things happen...
Some watch things happen...
Some ask what happened?
The key ingredient in every marketing plan is ACTION.
You have to make things happen.
As we have said before, just having a plan is not enough. You have to put goals in place to measure your progress. If you don't do so, you will inevitably find that at the end of the quarter or the year, you are not where you wanted to be. Don't wait until the beginning of the year if you do not already have a plan.
Start now! Here are a few tips that will help you reach your goals:
1. Put it in writing - your marketing plan and your action plan need to be in writing. It is not good enough to "have it in your head".
2. Lay out the numbers - put down real numbers, not vague goals: I want to earn $30,000 in commission revenue this year.
3. Develop a Marketing Calendar - Know what you are going to promote and when. Lay out a calendar of promotions.
4. Visit the Plan - No less than every month, review your progress. Make adjustments, get back on course.
5. Review your tactics - put into place the type of techniques that make success happen.
The lessons, strategies and tactics we review daily in this column are things you already know in large part. The key is keeping them fresh in your mind and actively working your marketing plan.
Only you can make it happen.
