Agents Increasingly Specialize in Wellness Travel

An increasing number of travel agents are taking a wellness travel specialization program through The Travel Institute, said Patty Noonan, director of sales.

Noonan said it reflects a growing trend: The segment produces almost $440 billion in global sales and is estimated to grow by about 10% over the following years.

"Even more compelling: wellness enthusiasts are 'big ticket' tourists, spending 130% more than the average traveler," Noonan said.
