People who get promoted take vacations, researchers say
Professionals who use all their vacation time have a 6.5% better chance of being promoted or getting a raise than those who leave vacation days unused, according to a research project led by the U.S. Travel Association.
"Many people don't take time off because they think that it will negatively impact their manager's perception of them.
But that isn't the case at all," said Gary Oster, managing director of the project.
