Home Based Travel agents interested in learning how to sell European rail may now request an introductory online training session with one of Rail Europe's experts. Agents can sign up for online training on the company's agent website, http://agent.raileurope.com/ under "agent resources."
Home based agents can choose from four weekly training times, Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST and Thursdays at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. EST. The session, which lasts approximately one hour and is conducted by one of Rail Europe's sales team, consists of product training and familiarization with the agent website: where to find railpasses, how to book tickets and passes, how to find detailed product fact sheets, making reservations, etc.
Other topics also include: finding the best product for the client, railpasses versus point-to-point tickets, understanding high-speed trains and what clients can expect when traveling by train in Europe. Once agents sign up for a training session, they are emailed a confirmation with a link that is used to access the meeting.
