Spanish Heritage Unveils Fall & Winter Tours

Spanish Heritage Tours introduced its new fall/winter lineup of packages to Spain and Portugal. The program features the tour operator's independent "Getaway Packages" to the Costa del Sol, Canary Islands, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Madrid/Barcelona and Lisbon/Algarve combinations -- all with departures from Nov. 1 through March 31.

Included is a hosted tour, Today's Spain: Tapas, Art, & Wine, highlighting classic and contemporary Spanish culture. Departures for "Today's Spain" are available in November 2006, as well as in February, April and May 2007.

Travel agent commission is 12 percent on all land/air packages. The eight-day/six-night Getaway Packages include roundtrip airfare from New York City, transfers, accommodation in three-, four- or five-star hotels, buffet breakfast daily, a half-day city sightseeing tour (except in Lisbon), and hotel taxes and service charges. Flights between Madrid & Barcelona and Lisbon and the Algarve are also included in the combo packages. Prices start at $779 for a Costa del Sol Getaway.

Home based travel agents can increase their commissions by booking sightseeing tours, excursions and other available optional arrangements along with the basic package. The 10-day hosted tour, "Today's Spain: Tapas, Art, & Wine", features a lesson in making tapas (the popular pre-dinner snacks), a sampling of Basque cuisine, wine tasting, and a tour of the spectacular Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

The tour price starts at $2,399, including roundtrip airfare from New York City, flights between cities, four-star hotels throughout, breakfast daily plus other meals, and the services of local hosts. All Getaway Package and Hosted Tour prices are per person double and are based on departures from New York. Add-on fares are available from other major U.S. cities. Departure taxes, airport fees and security charges, and applicable fuel surcharge are not included.
