Going on Vacation. Don't Leave home with out...

Travel documents, paperwork, credit cards, and more
Three copies of your airline tickets, cruise tickets, passports / visas, and itinerary – pack one copy in your carry on, one copy in your checked luggage, and leave one copy with someone you trust at home
Driver’s license and insurance card – in case you decide to rent a car
Medical insurance cards, medical history, list of allergens (for emergency purposes)
Credit cards / ATM card (be sure to call your credit card company to tell them you are traveling outside your state / country)
Watch (don’t forget to change the time zone!)

Guidebooks / maps
Foreign language dictionary (if traveling out of the country)
Reading material – books to read while in a plane, train, or automobile or lounging by the pool or ocean
Journal or notebook and pen / pencil – to savor memories of your trip
Home and e-mail addresses of loved ones back home – for sending postcards, e-mails, or gifts

Electronics / Camera equipment
Walkie Talkies in case your cell phones don’t work
Plug adaptor and converter (if traveling out of the country)
Cell phone and charger
Small flashlight
Small travel alarm clock – battery operated preferable
Underwater camera – for snorkeling or beach days
Extra memory cards for digital camera

Medicine
Ear plugs
Small first aid kit (band aids, Q-tips, vaseline, dramamine, antibiotic cream, bandages, anti-diarrheal medication, cortisone cream, aspirin)
Germicidal hand cleaner
Sun screen / lip sun screen

Other "necessities"
Extra luggage name tags (in case yours are lost)
Travel pillow
Playing cards
Tote bag – for souvenirs, sightseeing, or the beach
Hats / caps / visors

If you are taking a trip with a spouse, family member, or friend, we recommend putting at least one day of clothing in your partner’s suitcase, so that you are both covered in case a piece of luggage is misplaced for a day.
