Check your Facebook "About" info

by Sophie Bujold

With all the new rules about what you can include in your Facebook cover photo, it's become a little harder for businesses to promote their website or a call to action prominently on their business page.

The solution? Make sure you include them in your "About" information.

Your page's about information now has a prominent spot right underneath your profile image. It's perfect to make sure people see your website address or any other call to action you want to include.

Facebook gives you 255 characters in the About section to describe what you or your business do and include your links, so use them wisely. Start with a short explanation of how you help consumers and end with a clear invitation to visit your link. Easy-peasy and invaluable in helping your promote yourself.

To update your about info:
  • Click on "About"
  • Hover near "About" on the new screen and click "edit"
  • Find the "About" line and update your info. Any links you include will automatically turn into a live link once you save.
  • Click "Save Changes"
You're done and updated!
