Double duty presentations and marketing materials

by Sophie Bujold

You've probably put in a lot of effort in creating materials to help promote your business (or use materials that someone else has put a lot of effort into) Why not make sure it all reaches as many peple as possible without tiring yourself out?

Meet Slideshare. It's essentially the YouTube for business materials and a great way for you to get publicity without much effort.

With it, you can create an account and load up almost any type of business videos or document. When made public, these files can then be searched, found and shared with anyone on the web. (If you're scared about copyright, don't be. You can set your sharing settings to whatever level you are most comfortable)

This is basically a drop-and-go kind of tip. Just load up your file(s)and let it/them sit on the web. That's it, that's all.

Of course, you want these files to generate interest and traffic for you. So, when you load them up, make sure you do these things too:

  • Include your name and website info somewhere in the presentation (At the beginning and the end or at the bottom of every slide)
  • Add a short description for your file that explains quickly what it's about
  • Include your website address in the description too

So, your homework for this week is to create a slideshare account and to share a presentation or marketing piece that your agency uses. If you don't have one, what could you create that could help you share info about what you do?

Bonus Tip

You can make your new Slideshare content do double double duty (quadruple duty?) by then grabbing its link and sharing it on your Facebook page, Twitter profile, Pinterest boards or blog. How's THAT for maximizing your efforts?
