I wanted to share an email I just got from Terri Burke, the Director of National Accounts at the Globus Family of Brands:
We had a Vcom agent at Cruise King book a suite on an Avalon Commission Enhancement sailing. They earned $3,009 on one booking. I thought that would end your day with a smile.
You bet it ended my day with a smile – and I know Kerry King in Orlando has a big smile too!
Prepare for Wave Season
I hope you have a good feeling, as I do, about 2013 being a great year for our industry. While “Wave Season” doesn’t see the concentration of bookings in such a short period of time anymore the 1st Quarter remains the strongest. That means you would be wise to prepare to leverage this time, during which planning and booking is particularly on the minds of consumers.
Since the next few weeks are traditionally slower for travel agencies, may I suggest you spend time now preparing for how to increase your Q1 profits by:
- Updating your client lists so "Engagement" mailers reach those most likely to buy
- Downloading and saving on your computer the list of value added 2013 "Vacation Vignettes" to help you close the sale
- Familiarizing yourself with Stream, where you can easily search and book pre and post cruise hotels by searching for “Port of (City)”
- Spending time exploring all the resources available to help grow your profits on "Agent Universe"
