The Honeymoon Registry.
A honeymoon registry is a wonderful alternative to traditional wedding gifts. It allows couples to plain that special dream honeymoon and it gives friends and relatives an opportunity to give a gift that is sure to be loved.

Couples are getting married later in life. Most already have toasters and all the other traditional gifts newlyweds normally get. This makes it harder for friends and relative to find a nice gift.

Also the the couple has had several vacations and doesn't want to go back to the same places agen. Especialy if they were there befor with there X . So finding a honeymoon destination that is truly special to them can becomes both a challenge and a larger expence. A honeymoon registry helps both the friends relatives and the honeymoon couple achieve there goals of finding the right gift and helping the couple to pay for there dream honeymoon.

2. The Agent.
The agent benefits from being able to plain a truly amazing honeymoon and receiving a great commission for all your time and effort.

Also the smart agent will go one step further by getting the mailing list of all the friends and relatives of both the bride and groom by offering to mail the registry application for free.

This does several things.
1. It saves time and money for the couple.

2. You can gain 100's of names of potential clients. Don't forget to ask if any of there friends are also planning a honeymoon in the near future.

3. When you send your invitation to the honeymoon registration to all the couples friends and relatives, send a note explaining that as special friend of the couples. You will send a $20. Gift Certificate, to each person who contributes to the couples honeymoon.

By doing this you are showing every one your not just a travel agent but a friend of the couple, some one who can be trusted. You are also giving a gift certificate that only can be redeemed, if they buy a vacation package from you.

CRUISE INDUSTRY POISED FOR RECORD-BREAKING 2007

The interest in cruise vacations has indeed reached new heights, a fact that is clearly evidenced in the record number of ships - 100 - that have, or will, enter service between 2000 and 2010. Seven new ships debuted in 2006, and another nine are scheduled to launch in 2007.

As the cruise industry matures, so too do baby boomers. They are a formidable swath of the population that grew up on rock 'n roll, who, although aging chronologically, remain forever "young at heart." In travel terms, baby boomers seek vacations that incorporate active and adventurous elements but are unwilling to sacrifice creature comforts.

The "Old World," which has benefited from sold-out summer seasons in 2005 and 2006, is on track to record another banner year. CLIA-member cruise lines will be adding new ports along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, as well as in southern Italy, Turkey, Greece and Spain.

PASSPORT TO ADVENTURE, PRICELESS
However, those travelers without passports will soon "miss the boat" on itineraries that blanket the globe if they don't obtain passports. Although Congress extended the deadline of passport requirements for cruise passengers, travelers can expect the cruise industry to continue to promote the value of passports because they are in effect, priceless.

ROMANCE AT SEA
An ocean voyage has been the quintessential romantic vacation for generations, from Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in "An Affair to Remember" to Leonardo di Caprio and Kate Winslet's epic "Titanic" love affair. Star-crossed cruisers can dine al fresco on their stateroom verandah, enjoy high-energy floorshows, flirt with Lady Luck, dance cheek-to-cheek, or savor the sea air on a moonlit stroll on deck.

Not surprisingly, cruises are ideal for honeymooners - a fact that has led to a burgeoning of this market segment - whether 20-something couples or newlyweds in their 40s and 50s celebrating a first or subsequent marriage. Depending on the cruise line, ships' captains can perform a legally binding wedding at sea or ceremonies can be held on board by a local officiant while in port on embarkation day, allowing family and friends to join in the festivities. In growing popularity, wedding guests are invited to sail with the couple.

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR
Cruises provide the ideal vacation venue to maintain close ties, and larger numbers of family groups are bringing several generations together. For maturing boomers, family is a priority, as is finding meaningful ways to bond with children and grandchildren who may live far away. Today's cruise ships are uniquely able to satisfy the ever-changing dynamics of modern American families, which might also include step-parents and children, plus cousins, aunts and uncles and family friends.

LUXURY CRUISING TAKES OFF
In 2006, the majority of luxury ships sailed full - thanks in part to increased affluence and younger, first-time cruisers who have discovered luxury cruising's huge appeal. Business is so buoyant, in fact, that for the first time in many years orders are being placed for new ships catering to this segment of the cruise industry.

The traveling public has become aware that luxury cruises offer tremendous value and 2007 is predicted to be another stellar year. The sumptuous accommodations on today's CLIA-member luxury vessels are a far cry from their predecessors of 25 years ago. Balcony suites and staterooms are now the norm rather than the exception, as are luxury appointments and plush amenities. The attention to detail extends throughout all areas - food, entertainment and public facilities - coupled with gracious, attentive service.

BOOK EARLY OR BEWARE
The travel industry trend toward making cruise reservations far in advance is predicted to accelerate even further in 2007, with consumers heeding CLIA's message that early bookers are ensured the best savings and their optimum choices in ships, staterooms and sailings. According to Dale, "Some CLIA travel agents have reported that travelers booked 2008 cruises nearly two years in advance. Others have said that their 2007 booking levels are already exceeding those of 2006."

New Travel Agent Sales Tools from RCCL

Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises have developed several initiatives to help home based travel agents increase business. A new electronic quoting feature called eConnect can help travel agents personalize emails about cruise vacations with both brands.

"As part of our continued travel agent appreciation initiatives, it is our goal to help home based travel agents increase their profits," said Lisa Bauer, Royal Caribbean's senior vice president of sales. eConnect, available on the agent website www.cruisingpower.com, creates customized, electronic quotes that meet travel agents specific requests, but also offers additional details to help a client decide to purchase a Celebrity or Royal Caribbean vacation.

For example, if a client calls an agent to inquire about the cost of a Mediterranean sailing at a particular time of year, the travel agent can use the eConnect tool to search for that vacation. This generates an email to which the agent can add his or her agency's name and contact information. The email also includes a link to information about pricing, the itinerary, the brand, the ship, alternative departure dates, a virtual tour of the ship, and more.

In addition to using eConnect to personalize electronic quotes, home based travel agents can also customize a 28-minute Royal Caribbean TV infomercial. The template was created from the cruise line's national TV spot that features a variety of guests creating their own adventures: a family, a young couple, empty-nesters and three girlfriends. Within the infomercial, three call-to-action sections offer travel agents windows in which they can add their logo, web address, phone number and other custom visuals and messages. Agents can then run the spot in their local media market. For more information, visit www.cruisingpower.com, www.royalcaribbean.com or www.celebrity.com

"Wave season is a busy period for home based travel agents, so this year we're giving our travel selling partners a chance to recharge their batteries through our View & Verandah promotion," said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. "Not only does View & Verandah reward those who sell the most with greater opportunities to win, but the View & Verandah promotion brings exceptional savings directly to guests, making it even more compelling to book a Holland America Line cruise."

From Dec. 8, 2006, through Feb. 28, home based travel agents can offer their clients a verandah stateroom for the price of an outside stateroom or an outside stateroom for the price of an inside stateroom on select sailings. Each week through the end of February, Holland America will post and update the list of applicable sailings for these savings on its website. Agents should register at www.hollandamerica.com/vandv. The Value of Business Cards

Almost all of us take our business cards for granted. We all have them and we all use them. But most of us -- do not use them as effectively as we should!

Business cards are one of the least expensive forms of advertising and promotion that we have. Travel Agents should give them out anywhere and everywhere. If you are not using a box of cards every few months, they are not using them enough.

It may be a bit far fetched, but we have atravel agents who give business cards to everyone in the supermarket check-out line and even carry laminated cards to give away when swimming. Travel Agents should carry cards at all times. You should give them to anyone you meet who asks or comments about travel in the supermarket, at the hairdresser or anywhere.

Many local businesses have bulletin boards or tables displaying business cards of local businesses. Display your cards wherever you can. Ask store owners you know if you can leave some by the check out counter.

One travel agent made a deal with Dominos pizza to give $10. Gift certificates and her business card towards travel package or cruise with all pizza deliveries for one month. The gift certificate had Dominos name it. So it look like it was a thank you for shopping from Dominos. But it could only be cashed if the client book a cruise with the agent. You could do that with any store. The $10 or $20. gift certificate thank card from that store cost them nothing. It's a win, win program.

Business cards form the base of an active referral request system. Travel Agents should send thank you notes to all cruise and tour clients. They should ask clients to recommend the travel agents' services to their friends and relatives. Three business cards should be enclosed in each note with a reminder to the client to give them to friends who travel.

While we can't expect all cards to be given out, many will. It is a proven fact that it costs far less to secure repeat and referral business than to attract totally new clients. Clients referred by other satisfied clients will come with built-in trust concerning your ability to meet their needs.

The more business cards are distributed, the more there are opportunities to attract potential clients and expand our client base. Think of it as casting bread upon the water. The more you give out the you get back.Travel Agents wanted FT or PT www.HomeBased-TravelAgents.com
