Email marketing isn’t going anywhere, it’s only going to grow.

E-mail usage is expected to grow at an average rate of 6 percent year over year. With about 4.1 billion email users worldwide and mobile email is also growing.

Check out these 5 Tips

1. Responsive design: Given that most people check their emails on their mobile phones, it is no surprise that over the past few years brands have accommodated the almighty mobile. When designing your email for mobile, keeps things simple and focus on context and images.

2. Animation – Try animated gifs to make your email come alive and tell a more compelling story. Tip: When promoting a destination or cultural site, use different images to highlight the location while interjecting a human experience.

3. List growth – have a small list? Use other channels to grow your email list like a pop-up on your site or more importantly social media. Tip: Tie Post an offer on a cruise or hotel stay from a featured brand to foster interest and grow your list.

4. Automation, personalization and dynamic content – use automation, personalization and dynamic content to render messages based on user behavior. Tip: Create dynamic templates that allow for triggered messages based on certain actions performed on your site, like downloads or on other emails. Check with your ESP (email service provider) on their latest capabilities.

5. Test – who knows your customers better than you do? No one, so test these out and any other learnings you may gather along the way. Tip: Try testing two different responsive email design templates or try switching around your call to action
